I know. It happened to me. I met Alexandra Marie as Ms. Barreiro at Dade's finest and best magnet school ever, Southside, where we both worked with students to instill in them a love for the arts and knowledge. At once, I loved her tall and self-confident gait but at the same time her great smile revealed so much sweetness and humility.
I am proud to call Alexandra Marie a good friend. Being an artist, too, I know what it is like to have a light to shine with your art in this world which makes overcoing the obstacles in the way strengthen our determination and find a way to do what we love.
Certainly, Alexandra is determined to unite us in rhythm and song. Her gifted voice brings the world melodies of love and remembrance, of passion and grit, with a voice that reveals her essence of woman and expands our consciousness and enjoyment.
You'll swoon and sigh as she undulates he voice from highs to lows in rhythmic cadences of Latin, Jazz, Pop, and Classic, with lyrics that give us (her audience) wings to fly away with the melodies in our hearts.

cultural ambassador
A musical ambassador who transmits the ethos of Latin America and beyond in rhythm and song, a Lyricist extraordinaire, and CAMP'S 1st Conscious Artist of the Year, 2024, Alexandra Marie, travels to Greece in the summer of 2024 bringing her heritage to stages far and wide.
However, this will not be the first time Alexandra is selected to bring her heritage, which she considers a part of her journey through music, to Washington DC representing Argentina as the Tango capital of the world.
However, my favorite concert repertoire is when she includes all-time favorite international love songs.
Favorite concerts
Her Concert, The World's Best Love Songs, stands out as one of the best and most recent. It was an intimate set, a sound box, no less, adding to the resonance, and I was instantly transported to a Broadway Show. I remember the sensation of weightlessness I experienced as if floating on clouds. Hooray to Weston for bringing us the best. We live sixty miles away and that was the fewest number of miles I've traveled to one of Alexandra's shows.
In the last three years, hanks to Broward Cultural Division Artist Support, tAlexandra Marie's vivacious vibrato delighted audiences in this and several other concerts.

In every performance, Alexandra gives us more than the world's greatest Romantic songs, more than Latin America's classics, and more than passionate Tango. She allows us to experience her journey in life through music— the essence of a woman artist and an educator with a vision.
"Nostalgia" was a revealing concert where we discovered the roots and ambitions of this fabulous artist from her native Mar de Plata and Buenos Aires in Argentina to the tropical shores of south Florida.
This biographical concert narrates Alexandra's journey through songs. Tango dressed the night in deep passion and heartfelt love, as we were serenaded and brought to our feet by Don't Cry for Me Argentina.
In every Alexandra Marie concert, from beginning to end, she transmits her essence. From her outfits to the stage, always accompanied and surrounded by the best musicians. She makes everything harmonize just right, with her mujsical essence of woman touch. As it should be. She brings her life to the stage.

a special praise to THE tango musicians and dancers ACCOMPANISTS OF ALEXANDRA MARIE IN HER concerts
WHAT IS TANGO?
Full of passion, drama, and tears, Tango is a special place in the hearts of those who know it intimately. If you feel its vibration under your skin and it steal from you a tear, it is tango that you feel. it rips inside you like a dagger and fills you with the nectar of love.
"Tango and Beyond"Concert at NSU Museum Auditorium
In the words of Marie Alexandra:
"Tango and Beyond” features musical works that highlight a genre that has captivated composers with its sensuous style and music throughout the 20th Century."
“Tango and Beyond” will bring a classical flavor to the Argentine tango style and its connection to other genres. From tango master’s like Carlos Gardel and Le Pera favorites "El Día que me Quieras", "Mi Buenos Aires Querido" during the golden era of tango, to Piazzolla’s Nuevo Tango with works like "Maria de Buenos Aires". The influence of Habanera in the tango style extended to classical composers such as Bizet "Carmen's Habanera", Kurt Weill "Youvali" and Stravinsky "Tango”, and the romantic bolero tango by Maria Grever "Jurame".
However, Tango wasn't in Alexandra's repertoire when she arrived on the shores of south Florida with a dream. But nostalgia came along with Tango and today it is one of her best genres, speaking from the point of view of an audience that loves Tango and all the Latin American genres she sings.
But Alexandra is not limited to Latin genres. Among her most celebrated songs are Broadway selections and international love songs of all time, giving them a special classic touch unique to Alexandra Marie's gifted vocals.
Stay tuned for future Alexandra Marie concert announcements here.
